A SCENIC PAINTER is a highly skilled and talented artist who can paint for Theatre, Films, TV and commercials. My duties as a scenic artist is to reproduce a designer's painting elevations to their fullest extent, and to bring a production to life.

I have worked in a wide variety of styles and different media, from faux finishings like stone, wood and brick, trompe l'oeil, special effects sculpture and makeup, foam carving and painting, UV and wildfire paint, airbrush and HPLV sprayguns to create realistic skies and touch-ups on photo-printed fabrics. From reproducing classic romantic portraiture to modern art, stenciling all kinds of patterns to reproduce wallpaper and ornate rugs, and working with different materials such as vinyl and tyvek, I also know a variety of computer programs such as photoshop, autocad and zbrush.

I have a thorough knowledge of painting media, perspective, period styles and architecture, and along with a BFA from The University of New Mexico and an MFA from The California Institute of The Arts I have professional experience as a freelancer in Theatre, film and television in New Mexico, Los Angeles, and New York.
